A domestic grease trap is a waste water separator designed to collect greasy water from a domestic kitchen.  The greasy fats and oils to float to the surface within the grease trap.  An outlet baffle within the trap prevents the greasy waste from being discharged.  This allows cleaner water to flow to the septic tank or sewer.  Food scraps and particles will tend to collect on the bottom of the grease trap and will need to be cleaned manually.

If you have a septic tank or Aerated Water Treatment System (AWTS), a domestic grease trap from Viking Plastics will safely trap waste and contaminants like food scraps, hair and grease from entering your septic tank or AWTS.

A Viking Plastics domestic grease trap is made from PVC and has a capacity of 45 litres.

Installation Options

A domestic grease trap is installed in-line from the kitchen sink to the sewer or septic tank.  They are available for installation in above ground (under the sink) or below ground applications.  If installed below ground, the grease trap must not be subjected to any vehicle traffic.
